Summary of Experience
Dr. von Wartburg has in-depth expertise in industrial organization and competition economics, and he specializes in the application of sophisticated econometric models and economic analysis to complex competition-related matters in Canada, the US, and Europe. Dr. von Wartburg previously served as the Chief Economist and T.D. MacDonald Chair in Industrial Economics at the Competition Bureau of Canada, where he provided advice on economic matters related to investigations, litigation, advocacy work, and competition policy. He has extensive knowledge of and experience in a wide range of industries and all areas of competition economics, including mergers, monopolization and abuse of dominance, price-fixing, class certification, and quantification of damages.
