Summary of Experience

Dr. Thompson specializes in applying economic and statistical analyses to complex securities and financial litigation, including securities fraud, mergers and acquisitions, valuation, and commercial damages. He has extensive experience identifying and quantifying the impacts of manipulative trading practices in equities, futures, and cryptocurrency markets. Dr. Thompson has also worked on several matters involving valuation and damages estimation such as Delaware Court of Chancery transaction appraisals, breach of contract disputes, and valuation disputes involving residential mortgage-backed securities. Dr. Thompson has assisted clients and experts in all phases of the litigation process, including the development of expert reports, preparation for deposition and trial, and assistance with settlement negotiations.
